What Are Artifacts in Claude?

Claude can do more than answer inside a chat. Artifacts give you a separate workspace for building documents, diagrams, websites, interactive tools, and AI-powered apps that you can keep refining. This lesson shows how the current Artifact workflow works, from creating and editing your first Artifact to understanding publishing, connected tools, persistent storage, Claude Code Artifacts, and Cowork Live Artifacts. You will leave with a simple framework for deciding when normal chat is enough and when an Artifact is the better tool.
