Our Review
The worst part about any meeting is when someone asks, "Hey, could someone take notes?" and the 2 seconds of silence as everyone acknowledges that nobody wants to.
The second worst part about any meeting is after the meeting, having to decipher that person's incomplete notes or remember what you were thinking during that conversation.
So why not record it? There are now multiple AI meeting recorders to choose from.
If you use Google Meet/Zoom, we think Fireflies is the best option for you. Honestly, though, players like tl;dv and Otter also do roughly the same thing at roughly the same cost.
Transcripts, summaries, search
The tl;dr of Fireflies is that a notetaker will look at your calendar and join any meeting that you're in. It'll record the entire thing. Once it's done, it will:
- Generate a transcript
- Summarize the key topics and timestamp the transcript
- Allow you to search your meetings
It's handy for the days when you're back-to-back with meetings and don't have even a single minute to process what just happened.
Key integrations
- Video conferencing: Meet, Zoom, Teams, Webex, Bluejeans (yikes)
- Sales dialer: Salesloft, Dialpad, Aircall, RingCentral
- CRM: Salesforce, Hubspot, Pipedrive
You need something that just works
And then gets out of the way. We think that's Fireflies. And while the AI features can misfire sometimes, it seems like all players in this category are affected by the same problem.
Seamless is the name of the game. While we think there's room for a player to completely reinvent the experience using AI (perhaps that's Vowel!), Fireflies is a good option for people who can't leave their existing video conferencing tool and still need something that just works.
