Welcome, humans.

Is it just us, or is every company claiming to be an AI company? Y’all: plastering AI on your website doesn’t mean your stock will follow Nvidia’s.

It’s like that guy on Hinge who claims he's 6'0" when he's truly 5'9". Trust us, the people you’re trying to impress will catch on soon enough.

Here’s what you need to know about AI today:

  • Companies need to embrace and encourage AI at work.
  • Google’s Duet AI has promise but isn’t worth it (yet).
  • Meta plans to develop a model that beats ChatGPT-4.
  • Big Tech is on a massive hiring spree for AI specialists.

5 Ways Companies Can Foster Collaboration Around AI At Work.

Here’s the AI scene at most companies right now: senior leadership is privately discussing how AI will transform business, and employees are secretly using AI for their tasks.

There is zero collaboration. Zero alignment. And, most critically, zero trust.

This needs to change. We’ve chatted with a couple big companies about how they’re positioning AI at the heart of how they operate.

Here are 5 ideas to foster AI collaboration in the office:

  1. AI prompt library: create a place where employees can post and discuss prompts they’re using in their workflows. A simple GDoc will do.
  2. AI-centric hackathon: organize an event where teams brainstorm and build AI solutions for company processes.
  3. AI idea box: introduce a suggestion box (online or IRL) where employees can drop ideas for AI solutions.
  4. ChatGPT Plus on the house: Reimburse ChatGPT Plus for everyone. But always have security guidelines in place!
  5. Get the convo going: motivate the sharing of AI resources, guides, and articles on your Slack or Teams. This starts top-down from senior leadership.

Our Honest Review Of Google Workspace’s Duet AI.

Google has been hyping up it’s “Duet AI” for a while now.

The end goal: arm every user with an AI assistant for all your work apps (Docs, Sheets, Meet, Slides, & Gmail).

We signed up for the trial (normally $30/user/month) to see if it lives up to the hype.

tl;dr: Duet AI is not great yet. Wait to buy. We’ll tell you when.

Today, you only get the basic features like drafting emails, organizing spreadsheets, and generating images. ChatGPT + Midjourney do all of this, but better.

Duet AI becomes worth it when it can execute tasks that involve all of your company’s context, not just one doc.

Picture this:

  1. Takes notes on CEO feedback to Q4 priorities from this Meet.
  2. Update the Q4 strategy memo in Docs based on these notes.
  3. Create 10 pages in Slides based on the strategy doc.

The demos hint these features are coming, but it’s unclear when. For now, your $30 is better spent on an office keg or feline.

Around the Horn.

  • Meta plans to build an AI model that’ll outdo GPT-4, with training set for early ‘24.
  • Big Tech is on a hiring spree for AI talent.
  • One-third of Americans said they will be “less trusting” of 2024 election results because of AI .
  • WIRED interviews Google CEO Sundar Pichai on AI.

Treat To Try.

HeyGen, an AI video tool, just dropped a new feature that can translate your videos into other languages with one click.

The magic is their AI that uses lip-syncing and voice cloning to mimic accents, tones, and emotions that make your videos look and sound 100% real.

Great way to make your marketing, sales, and educational videos accessible globally.
