Welcome, humans.
OpenAI may be about to drop Astra, its next major model, and we’re going LIVE at 10 AM PT in case it happens.
The company has already said it is preparing to release Astra. Now the official ChatGPT account is teasing that “The stars are almost aligned.” Subtle!
OpenAI’s own account is piling on with fresh launch-day-looking posts and another teaser. None of that proves the model launches today, but it is enough smoke that Corey and Grant are opening the livestream.
Why Astra is a big deal
Astra is not a random model rumor. OpenAI calls it its next major model, and says it is the first OpenAI system to reach the Critical cybersecurity capability threshold under its Preparedness Framework.
OpenAI says Astra represents a significant jump in cybersecurity capability.
The company says it has built stronger safeguards specifically because of what the model can do.
OpenAI has already started publicly previewing how it evaluated Astra ahead of release.
And then there’s the naming mystery: people are watching for whether Astra becomes GPT-6, stays Astra, or ships under some other name entirely.
IMO, I think we can confirm Astra is GPT 6, based on this image:
There’s another clue too: Codex users are spotting new model entries, and some are claiming a GPT-6 / Codex model is already showing up inside Codex. We haven’t independently verified actual access yet, so treat that as launch-day chatter, not confirmation. We’ll check it live.
We’re going LIVE at 10 AM PT (5 minutes!!)
We’ll be watching the launch signals in real time, separating what OpenAI has actually confirmed from the rumor pile, and breaking down what Astra could change if it drops.
If the model launches while we’re live, we’ll test it immediately.
When: Thursday, September 3 at 10:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM CT / 1:00 PM ET.
What we’ll cover:
What OpenAI has officially confirmed about Astra.
Why people think GPT-6 could launch today.
The cybersecurity capabilities that forced OpenAI to add stronger safeguards.
What the official ChatGPT and OpenAI teasers might be signaling.
And, if it launches, our first live tests.
P.S. If OpenAI really made us schedule an emergency livestream because “the stars are almost aligned,” and then launches nothing today, we reserve the right to spend ten minutes ranking its astrology signs.

Worried AI agents can be manipulated by other AI?
TL;DW: Alice CEO Noam Schwartz explains why agent security becomes a different problem once AI can take actions, access tools, and influence other agents. The conversation covers prompt injection, open-weight risks, and why security has to exist at every layer.
Why you should watch: If you are building or deploying agents, this gives you a practical way to think about the permissions, tools, data, and trust boundaries around the model.

Can AI actually predict what happens next?
TL;DW: Neuralk CEO Alexandre Pasquiou argues that language models are great interfaces, but structured business prediction needs models built to learn from rows, columns, distributions, and numbers directly.
Why you should watch: If you use AI for spreadsheets, finance, forecasting, or operations, this explains why summarizing your data and predicting from it are two different jobs.
